I sure can say times have changed a lot; things like camping generators have taken most of the fun of camping. While I do concede that we now carry with us lots of electronic gadgets we could only dream of some decades ago, the truth remains: camping should be about getting away from all that. Oh well, maybe it’s just me becoming old… and I can’t deny I do like the thought of recharging my cell phones and GPS navigation unit when camping and camping generators supply the power.

So, even while camping, we can now use a small portable camping generator to power all out gadgets and light up our tents at night. I know what you’re thinking: what? You just have to place it a few feet away from your tent and you’ll never know it’s there.

Call me old-fashioned, but while I still prefer camping in the traditional style, carrying no more than I absolutely need to; I do understand that having a backup power camping generator nearby does indeed have its safety advantages. Last thing you’d want to happen would be to call for rescue and have your cell phone and radio batteries dead.
